Friends Of The Lowicz Polish Folklore Ensemble Edmonton
Oberek Children's Dance Society
Oberek prides itself to offer children aged 5-16 a fun and positive environment where they can foster their knowledge and experience of Polish Heritage. Their dancers make lasting friendships and share unforgettable memories traveling and performing in front of applauding crowds. After years of dancing there is significant growth in the children's confidence and self-discipline. Young children learn the basic steps, rhythm and develop grace and poise. They often learn Polish songs to accompany the dances.
Opoczno Polish Dance Society
Opoczno was created specifically for youth 14-18 years of age who have a passion for Polish folklore dance and heritage. The dancers already have years of experience dancing with Oberek Polish Canadian Children’s Dance Society. The new group was formed in order to provide them with a more challenging environment that will help them grow as first class performers and prepare them for a much more demanding level of dance in Lowicz Polish Folklore Ensemble. Throughout the year, Opoczno group gives many performances at local community events, festivals and celebrations. All young people interested in dance and Polish culture are welcome to join the group!
